'Mini-Mountain Heritage Day' to be held on campus June 28

A national search will begin immediately for a new women's head basketball coach after the WCU Board of Trustees did not approve an employment contract for Heather Kearney Thursday, June 20.

Newly credentialed students to be recognized at Nonprofit Professional Program reception

The fall program will kick off at WCU’s Biltmore Park site with a one-day workshop Thursday, Sept. 12.   


Vocalists hoping to bring back Madrigal Dinner memories on June 22

A pageant newbie, WCU’s Lindsey Woodward looks to bring home Miss North Carolina crown

Participating in just her third pageant, sophomore Lindsey Woodward will compete for the Miss North Carolina crown in Raleigh on Saturday, June 22.

Medieval, renaissance, baroque music recital set for July 4

The faculty of the Mountain Collegium Music Workshop will perform on early and folk instruments in the recital hall of the Coulter Building.

Folklorist, storyteller and musician Lee Knight is set to perform on campus Tuesday, July 2.  


Raymond Kinsland, icon of Cherokee community and WCU honorary doctorate recipient, passes away at 84

He was a leader in the enterprises of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, most notably as general manager of the Cherokee Boys Club for 53 years.
