CAPS is available to help students cope with their new way of life

Students have had to adapt to a new way of learning with most classes shifting to online learning because of the COVID-19 pandemic. For the many students who utilized WCU’s Counseling and Psychological Services, they’ve also had to adapt to a new way of receiving services with face-to-face meetings no longer allowed.

It's Spring at WCU and We Miss You!

Flowers are blooming on campus and spring is beginning to show itself on campus, but it isn't the same without our students. We want to thank everyone for their patience and support during these uncertain times and we can't wait to have you back on campus!

Is Black History Month still important in 2020?

Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated February as “Black History Month.” In its early days, schools systems, churches and community centers across the country would spend the entire month honoring the accomplishments of notable African Americans. Why We March

On January 21st, Western Carolina University students gathered in the A.K. Hinds University Center’s Grandroom for opening remarks before they began the annual Unity March around campus. We asked students why they decided to march. Here are their responses.

A Hire Advantage

Working on your college campus probably won’t make you rich, but what if it offered something potentially even more valuable in the long term? Western Carolina University actually offers that – through a program designed to make student employment a more impactful experience

A Decade in Review

The past ten years at Western Carolina University have been transformational, to say the least. Our student population has consistently grown; our campus has evolved to support the future, and all members of our Catamount family have experienced many life-changing moments here at WCU. After taking a moment to reflect back, we now look to the future. Not only for our university but also for our students, faculty, staff, and community that call Western Carolina University home.
